I am sorry for the lack of posts!  I hope to update this blog each week!

Today was a fun day as we celebrated Read Across America (a week late, due to the snow!).  The children visited each of the 2nd grade classrooms and completed a fun activity pertaining to various Dr. Seuss books.

Ella is our Star of the Week this week!  We are excited to learn more about her!

Happy Birthday to Aydin on Friday!

Monday, March 17th we will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day.  I am asking EACH child to please bring in a GREEN snack to share with the class.  Some examples are - green candy, green cupcakes, green juice, green ice cream, peas, green beans, broccoli, avocados, etc.  The list is endless!!

I am looking forward to a great week!!

Good Bye September...Hello October!

I can't believe that it is almost October!  September flew by!

The month of September was filled with lots of getting to know you activities and reviewing 1st grade material.

Congratulations to Mrs. Melissa Shank for being selected as our Head Room Parent.  She will be in contact with everyone regarding parties and celebrations.

We will celebrate United Nations Day on October 24th.  More information will be sent home shortly, but in a nutshell, each child will pick a country (preferably one that represents their heritage) and create a poster (in class) about their country.  The children are asked to bring in a dish from their country for the class the sample on October 24th (this will be prepared at home and sent into school).  The children will be given a paper doll to decorate in clothing from their country.  THIS IS AN OPTIONAL ASSIGNMENT!!

Halloween will be celebrated on Thursday, October 31st.  The children will parade around the school at approx. 2:00 then return to the classroom for treats and games.

Scholastic Books - Scholastic Books flyers are being sent home on Tuesday, September 24th.  This is a wonderful, inexpensive way to build your child's library.  If you are interested in purchasing, please use the online link below.  Our class code is H76J2.

Thank you for all your support!  I'm looking forward to a great year!
